STORAGE TIP

Feeding

Dogs and cats often eat the same food for long periods, so switching suddenly can upset their digestion. To help them adjust, transition slowly by mixing 25% new food with 75% current food. Gradually increase the new food over 5–7 days until you’re feeding 100% of the new recipe. This helps prevent digestive issues and ensures a smooth switch.

Feeding

Proper storage helps maintain freshness, prevent moisture buildup, and protect against pests to ensuring your pet enjoys safe, nutritious meals every time.

To keep your pet's food fresh and safe, first squeeze out excess air from the bag, then roll down the flap tightly to seal it. Place the bag in your preferred container, add a dehumidifier or silica gel pack, and store it in a cool, dry place. For best quality, finish the food within 4-6 weeks.

Rotating between ACANA formulas keeps every meal even more interesting, while offering them a variety of proteins and fats. A good place to start is rotating by the bag. The first time you introduce a new food for rotation, mix the food 50/50 just to making sure your pet transitions well. If your dog or cat is more diet-sensitive, do a full transition when introducing new ACANA food - after that you can change at will.
